The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR, Regulation (EU) 2025/40) generally applies from 12 August 2026. Individual requirements and transitional arrangements have different timelines.
Businesses reviewing material use can test honeycomb paper sleeves as a paper-based alternative to certain plastic cushioning materials. The right choice still depends on the product, carton and shipping process.
Using a paper sleeve alone does not establish PPWR compliance. The complete packaging, its application and the applicable requirements must be considered.
